Connected to God. Connected to each other. Connected to the World.
Young Life
Young Life is a world-class organization for adolescents and has served teenagers and their families in Harlandale ISD for 20+ years. What began at McCollum high school is now impacting kids at Harlandale High School, Harlandale Middle School, Burbank High School, Texas A&M University in San Antonio, and Mission Road reaching out to kids and families with intellectual developmental disabilities (IDD). Young Life leaders spend countless hours in the world of kids, beginning with what matters to them - fun, adventure, friendship and a sense of significance. In doing so, they earn the privilege of sharing with them what they believe matters most of all - the truth about God and his love for them in Christ.
The program of Young Life is simple: weekly activities that inspire and support positive friendships between kids and leaders, year-round small group bible studies and retreats, and world-class summer camping that takes kids out of their environment and into the great adventure of God's beautiful creation. Thousands of kids in the Harlandale district and now reaching kids outside of HISD have had their lives changed by their friendship with Young Life leaders, and many have been developed into spiritual and community leaders themselves.
